Who could fail to be impressed by the vibrant colours and pungent aroma of Nasturtium or Tropaeolum majus flowers, seen here in a salad to accompany enchiladas which we shared with our retreat guest here at Opening Space Retreat, earlier this week. These peppery flowers and leaves are a joy to the sight, smell and taste senses and in addition they are a useful medicinal plant. The Nasturtium has been found to be a powerful natural antibiotic, one which even has a good effect against micro-organisms which have a resistance to conventional allopathic antibiotics. They are a natural source of Vitamin C, Iron and other minerals and is an effective antioxidant and tonic.
