Do you buy flower essences or make your own?

This beautiful flower which decorates the front of the Big House here at Opening Space retreat is a Clematis, of the buttercup genus Ranunculaceae. It is one of the 38 plants that Edward Bach developed as a flower essence, now readily available through pharmacies and health shops. But did you know you can of course make your own essence? I think this is even more exciting.

It is not so difficult as you may imagine. In fact it is remarkably simple if you follow a set procedure which you can find online at, amongst other places, Sacred Space,  Care2 or even on You Tube where you can see a film about creating your own essences.

It is super to know that something so beautiful can do so much good as well. The main properties of Clematis Flower Essence are to be found online from various sources including The Ananda Apothecary.
