Mastering the earth, mathematics and design

It is only now after a concerted effort to weed our vegetable plot, we have sore backs to prove it, that I realise the mathematical and design features of growing one's own produce. My soul sang today when I went out for my daily inspection of the plot, to see the neat rows of vegetables spaced and standing to attention. The overall effect was one of order like the grand vegetable garden designs to be seen in many grand chateaux and castles around here and elsewhere. The vegetables were seeking the sun in way they seek the water from the hose in the sunset hours. It makes me so proud to be mastering this small plot and enabling the vegetables to grow. This produce will provide our guests with a wholesome home-grown option be they here for a de-toxifying retreat or simply enjoying a bed and breakfast break.

Above is the first produce from our garden, some lovely deep red radishes, they will be tasty in a new recipe I found for radish curry, of which later, when I do a recipe blog in a few days time.

The nutritional and health giving properties are as follows:
Raphanus Sativus are rich in ascorbic acid, folic acid and potassium and are also a good source of Vitamin B6, Riboflavin, Magnesium, Cooper and Calcium.

The leaves of radish plants have been used to treat kidney and skin disorders, fight cancer and even soothe insect bites.
